The local Aboriginal people used this tree as bush medicine for head colds. The many Red Gum trees on our property provide us with this precious aromatic oil. As with all our oils, we hand pick and distill in our traditional copper still from Al Alembiq of Portugal.
The fresh clean earthy aroma of the red gum oil in the balm is not only good for the skin but helps to clear the breath and ground the emotions. Primordial is what its been called. |
The blossoms of the Bitter Orange are sweet and heady. The stand of 120 trees were planted in 1949 and are still going strong.
Each year in October we pick as many flowers as we can and put them into our still. The sweet rich fragrant smell wafts over the sandhills and adds delight to the air. The sweet balm is a favourite and supports the skin and the senses to be one step closer to happy. |
Old man weed has been used for thousands and thousands of years by the Australian Aboriginal peoples for use in skin care, wounds, infections, inflammation and sore throats.
It is sometimes called sneezeweed and a lovely little plant it is too. Our age old balm recipe holds the healing properties of the essential oils perfectly so that you can apply to dry skin with confidence. |
The need to make ones own products for the facial treatments inspired me to have continually used this balm recipe. The mixture of Beeswax and Lanolin in a base with essential oils and floral waters to bind them together has proven the test of time and I have now been making this balm for over 40 years.
This balm is creamy and soft and leaves a light film to ensure long lasting absorption, Great for foot massage, hand massage and areas of dry skin. |
